About Skin Candy LLC:
Skin Candy was founded in 1995 in San Francisco, Ca. Most of their pigments are made old style from mixtures of powder color pigment, isopropyl alcohol or witch hazel, distilled water, food grade propylene glycol. Some of their pigments are homogenized or predispersed.
Black Light Ink - we've been moving this stuff since BEFORE it even arrived!
Skin Candy tattoo ink was featured at the Nanaimo Tattoo Expo on May 11th (sponsored by Pricks of the Trade) - you can even see how we were completely misquoted in the Nanaimo Daily News - what Dave said was:
"NO tattoo ink is FDA approved - most likely it will never have an FDA approval. While some may claim their ink has an approval, if you dig deep enough you find they're misleading buyers and that it is in fact only approved for use on animals, since tattoo ink and UV reactive ink is used for tracking wildlife migratory patterns".
What they printed was (in reference to UV ink):
The ink is safe, but despite what people think, it is not approved by the Food and Drug Association in the United States, according to the owner of Pricks of the Trade tattoo supply in Vancouver.
So how about a little turmoil to kick things off right...?
Immediate answers about Skin Candy UV ink:

It is as legal as any other US manufactured tattoo ink - anyone who says otherwise is passing on contrived information from the uninformed.
- It is not 'glow in the dark' - there was an ink a few years back that DID glow in the dark without the use of a black light, using some type of poster ink (it's amazing what people will inject into their bodies...) but they've learned the hard way with near immediate results this is not a viable option. That's how UV reactive ink differs. In fact, the UV reactive polymer found in UV reactive ink can be found in some of our store bought foods.
- You DO need a UV light to tattoo it in (for best results) and it should be a flourescent light, not an incandescent light. Other UV inks may take up to 2 weeks to 'work', but Skin Candy UV ink works immediately - just ask our newest order processing agent and resident tattoo test guinea pig Che (pronounced 'shay'). He was cool enough to let us tattoo a set of lips onto his neck using UV ink from Skin Candy - big thanks to Vern and the other folks at Electric Crayon Tattoos in Cold Lake, Alberta for the kick-ass set of realistic looking lips on his neck...Vern did a killer job of tattooing Che's neck.
- Skin Candy tattoo ink comes in 7 colors and 1 invisible ink. These colors can be viewed in regular light and still react under a black light. The invisible can only be seen under a proper light.
- You CAN tattoo it over old ink. In fact, one artist who's used Skin Candy UV ink for years gave us a piece of golden advise - you can also lay down some color on the tattoo and immediately tattoo the similar color of UV ink over top of it. This gives the tattoo a real rich color in the daytime and still kicks ass with the UV reactive color under the black light.
You know when you first finish a tattoo, and all the lines have that nice warm, red glow around them? Only after a few days, the redness disappears to reveal the real ink lines of the tattoo? Well, SkinCandy has a new 3 bottle color set called 'Roan' (pronounced 'rone') that is a 'black cherry' color - guess what? They've DESIGNED IT to look like fresh red glowing black lines! This is the only ink in the world designed to look like fresh cut lines - and this stuff flies off the shelf, it's so popular...
Roan is used like a grey wash (only it's black cherrry, see...) to go around the tattoo areas you want to look like a 'new tattoo redness'.
 Stencil Stuff was developed by Professional Tattoo Artists who knew there had to be a better way to apply detailed, precision stencils and achieve longer lasting stencil artwork.
